You may challenge for, and hold up to 7 total Character Spots.
Challenge Rules:
*Challenge for this character spot by replying here. It is highly recommended that both players send profile messages after the challenge to set up a time. This will also help decide which is more active if the deadline isn't met.
*The Spot holder is responsible for keeping track of their challenges by checking for challenges in the topic of character spots they hold; and replying to messages sent to them by the challenger.
*Once the challenge has been made, you both will have 5 days to complete the match. Failure to accept a challenge after 48 hours results in an automated DQ for the character holder. So be sure to keep up with your character spots.
*One challenge per character spot topic. You must wait for a challenge in progress to be completed before challenging for the spot. Any posts made to challenge while one is in progress will be voided.( THIS MEANS: No posting to reserve a future challenge. )
*The first post will have any current challenge listed, directly under the spot holder's name. If the date has passed, and no results have been posted, then you may issue a challenge for the spot. ( We will decide who is the current spot holder if no results are posted.)
*Report the Results after a challenge is completed.
*Post & Report the Results after a challenge is completed, IN THE TOPIC.
*You also have the option to use the "Report to Moderator" link at the bottom of your post after match results have been posted.
*The loser of the challenge cannot re-challenge for another 48 hours. (only exception is if another challenge is completed by another member challenging)
Spoiler for Hidden:
*The Spot holder is responsible for keeping track of their challenges by checking back in the topic of character spots they hold.
Match Rules:
*Best 2 out of 3
*Stock: 3 stock
*Time: 8 min
*Item: This is optional. If both opponents want items then you can have them, however if either opponent does not want items then you cannot have items.
*Smash Ball: Just like items it's optional. Same rules apply as items.
Stage Rules:
The first match of a game must be played on a verified Neutral Stage:
* Battlefield
* Yoshi's Island
* Smashville
* Lylat Cruise
* Pokémon Stadium
* Final Destination
* Halberd
* If the Timer runs out, the winner of the Game will be determined by the following criteria in this order: Stock and Percentage. If Stock is used to determine a winner, the highest number will win. If Percentage is used to determine a winner, the lowest number will win.
* Resolving Ties: If percents are the same or both players die simultaneously, there will be a 1 stock, 3 minute, same characters, same stage rematch.
* You are responsible for your own controller and name tag. Any malfunctions or errors that occur are your responsibility, so bring an extra controller if possible and always check to make sure you're using the correct settings BEFORE a match is played. If a match is to be restarted due to controller functions, it must be agreed upon by both parties.
* Any action which prevents the game from continuing (i.e. by causing the game to crash or causing all characters to freeze indefinitely) is banned. If the Tournament Organizer or a judge can conclusively determine the player responsible for the failure, that player loses the interrupted game. Players are expected to know their characters and prevent this from happening.
* Stalling is banned.
Stalling: The act of deliberately avoiding any and all conflict so that one may make the game unplayable. Running away from an opponent to reach a better position is not stalling, while using an infinite to run out the timer rather than to score a KO is. As such, any infinite chain-grabs, locks, etc. cannot exceed 300%. Or using Sonic's Neutral B repeatedly underneath the stage is.
* No player must grab the ledge more than 40 times in a game. If, and only if, the timer runs out and either player has exceeded the total ledge grabs, they lose the game, regardless of stocks and percents. If both players exceed the ledge-grab limit, then the usual time-out rules will apply.
* Both players may choose 2 "personal bans" stages to be removed from play for the entire set.
* Personal bans must be announced in the chat or PM prior to the first game being played. (Wiinet Users)
* Players may opt not to use their personal ban.
* The loser of each match will pick the stage for the next game. Announce your decision in private chat so your opponent knows which stage to pick. If your stage selection does not come up in game, suicide three times and start the match over until you get your chosen stage. Make sure to communicate this with your opponent.
* When choosing a stage, you may pick any Neutral stage, or any of the counter pick stages listed:
* Pirate Ship
* Norfair
* Castle Siege
* Frigate Orpheon
* Pokémon Stadium 2
* Port Town Aero Dive
* Delfino Plaza
* Pictochat
* Jungle Japes
* Rainbow Cruise
* Green Greens
* Brinstar
**No player may choose a stage they have already won on in that set unless agreed upon by both players. (Dave's Stupid Rule)
If agreed upon, players can decide to not use Dave's Stupid Rule, but both players MUST agree.
